As we begin the New Year, right now, our CRI staff and students are “BOOTS ON THE GROUND” in San Luis, Sonora, Rio Colorado, México.
That’s right, Mexico!
This is a city whose population is 300,000 with an average daily wage of $4.74 per day.
As our CRI students begin their second semester, we have deployed them to experience international
ministry “on the front lines” in Mexico. So, by the time they graduate in May 2017, they have been trained in urban ministry both home and foreign.
What’s so exciting is that for the next 15 days, our CRI team will be engaged daily in “hands-on” city ministry as follows:
CRI’s training base and main ministry will be at Bethel Orphanage. “Albergue Bethel” has brought rescue to abandoned children for over 40 years. Bethel provides a home; food, clothing, healthcare and education for children who live on site full time. Each child has their own unique story of heartache and loss. Bethel provides physical, emotional and spiritual support in a safe, clean, family environment. Without this orphanage, these children would be living in dangerous and unhealthy conditions.
